DENVER, CO – One person was hospitalized following a single-vehicle collision along Denver High School on Thursday, Denver police said.

Police said the incident unfolded before 5:45 a.m., when the driver crashed their vehicle into a median off the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Detroit Street.
The driver was left in serious condition and sent to the emergency room for treatment.
Officials closed Colfax Avenue in both directions to allow crews to clean up debris leftover from the crash and to render aid to those involved.
Police have not provided additional commentary with regard to the crash and are actively working to pinpoint the contributing factors behind the incident.
