AURORA, CO – A driver of a Toyota Rav4 SUV, reportedly ran a red light, which led to a fatal crash involving a ride sharing vehicle.
The Toyota driver was reportedly going west, when they went through a red light at the intersection of Laredo Street and 6th Avenue and crashed into a ridesharing sedan, according to CBS News.
The sedan’s rear passenger door was ripped off, and its passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
EMS crews rushed the sedan passenger and driver to a hospital. There, the passenger died from their injuries.
The ridesharing driver survived and was left with unspecified injuries.
The Toyota driver cooperated with police.
Police do not suspect impairment on behalf of the Toyota driver, or confirm whether they needed to go to the hospital or if they were cited or could face charges.
