LOVELAND, CO – A driver died after their big rig crashed and overturned on I-25 North Tuesday, Denver 7 reports.

Colorado State Patrol’s preliminary details indicate that around 2:00 p.m., the driver had switched lanes, going from one lane to the interstate’s shoulder. As the driver merged, they crashed into the guardrail, which caused their truck to flip over.

The truck driver was ejected from their vehicle and died from their injuries at the scene.

Officials shut down two northbound lanes. During the closures, one HOV lane was kept open to accommodate the flow of traffic.

CSP is actively working to determine the contributing factors behind the crash.
