DUI driver fatally collides with truck in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – According to KRDO, a suspected DUI driver fatally collided with another vehicle on South Circle Drive near the Hancock Expressway early Saturday morning.

A pickup truck driver was heading south on South Circle Drive with two passengers in the bed of the truck when they were struck by another car around 2:39 a.m.

The two passengers in the truck’s bed were ejected from the vehicle in the collision. First responders pronounced one of them dead at the scene and transported the other to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities arrested Chase Chason for DUI. It is unclear which vehicle he was driving.
