GREELEY, CO – An 82-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that happened along Greeley Country Club on Thursday.

Greeley police told KDVR that the collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. on the 4400th block of 10th Street. The events began when a Chevrolet Trailblazer rear-ended a GMC Yukon.

The GMC Yukon was pushed forward and crashed into a Greeley Evans Transit bus and a Nissan Altima.

The 82-year-old man, who drove the Chevrolet Trailblazer, was sent to a hospital where he later died.

Police later determined the 82-year-old man was speeding and tailgating.

Police said the city bus had hazard lights on and, at the time of the collision, was in the process of loading and unloading passengers.

The bus driver, a 60-year-old adult, the Yukon driver, a 50-year-old woman, and the Yukon passenger, a 75-year-old adult, were sent to the hospital. The bus driver was treated for minor injuries and later released that day. The Yukon occupants were only taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The Nissan Altima driver was uninjured.
