AURORA, CO — Aurora Police took a 34-year-old man into custody in connection with a crash that injured a pregnant woman and killed her unborn child on Monday.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of E. 6th Ave and Potomac Street, CBS News said. It was there that the 34-year-old man, driving a white work van, crashed into a pickup truck driven by Erubey Zunun Roblero.
The impact of the crash left Erubey’s wife, Jacqueline Roblero, entrapped or pinned inside the truck.
Fire crews were able to extricate Jacqueline, who is pregnant, to the emergency room.
Jacqueline sustained a broken leg and had to undergo surgery for several reasons.
Erubey said his and Jacqueline’s soon-to-be child no longer had vital signs and died from their injuries.
Erubey and his brother, another passenger, appeared to be uninjured.
The suspect accused driver, who was identified as Chad Gow, is in custody and is expected to face several charges as a result of this deadly crash.
