GREELEY, CO – A teen cyclist was injured in a crash involving an off-duty Greeley Police Officer on Sunday, the Denver Gazette reports.
Colorado State Patrol said the incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. when the cyclist drifted out of the eastbound lane of West 26th Street and drove into the westbound lane and collided with the off-duty police officer’s unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe.
The teen cyclist allegedly failed to yield when the Chevrolet crashed into the right side of the bicycle.
EMS crews transferred the teen cyclist to a hospital, who has since been released.
The off-duty officer, Adam Turk, has not been cited. At this time, it’s unclear if Turk will face charges.
A full investigation is underway.
