THORNTON, CO – A woman was killed in a fiery collision that happened on I-25 North south of 84th Avenue Monday, according to 9News.

Preliminary details reveal that the woman was driving a Nissan Xterra when she drifted out of her lane, went off the road, and crashed into a cement wall. Her car overturned and caught on fire.

Adams County Fire crews arrived at the scene after 4:15 a.m. and declared the woman dead at the scene.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews and Colorado State Patrol were among the officials called to the scene. Authorities shut down I-25 North between U.S. 36 and 84th Avenue for several hours and reopened both lanes around 8:15 a.m.
