BRIGHTON, CO – One person died and another sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 85 south of East 136th Avenue on Friday, KDVR said.

The incident unfolded at 6:15 a.m. when a driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck going north on the highway rear-ended a northbound Toyota SUV.

The impact of the crash caused the Toyota SUV to overturn, while the Chevrolet pickup truck collided with several other vehicles.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck, an unidentified woman, succumbed to her injuries, while one of the car drivers was hospitalized for minor injuries.

The corner’s office will release the woman’s name once her identity is confirmed by them and her family.

Brighton Police are working to determine whether impairment was a contributing factor.
