News: 1 killed, 2 injured in single-vehicle collision in Wheat Ridge

WHEAT RIDGE, CO – One person died and two others were injured as a result of a single-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 70, east of Kipling on Saturday.

Wheat Ridge Police reported the crash at 7:06 a.m. Police said the two people who survived were sent to a hospital for treatment. As of this writing, one person remains in serious condition, while another was left in stable condition.

TRAFFIC ALERT: WRPD is investigating a single-vehicle crash on I-70 WB just east of Kipling. There is one fatality at this time and two people were transported to the hospital.

Police shut down the majority of westbound I-70 between Kipling Street and Wadsworth Boulevard to accommodate the scene-clean-up process.

By 11:30 a.m., police opened two lanes of traffic, and by 1:17 p.m., reopened all lanes.

The victim’s name has not been released yet.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
