Officials said it was 47-year-old Youssouf Sow who lost his life, 9News reports.
Police said the four-vehicle collision occurred around 5 a.m. in the area of Interstate 70 East near Havana Street. One of the drivers fled the scene prior to the police and EMS’ arrival.
Police declared Sow dead at the scene, and an ambulance rushed another person to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Authorities shut down the eastbound Interstate 70 along Central Park Boulevard to accommodate the scene clean-up process.
Police have not confirmed whether they located the hit-and-run suspect and have not announced an arrest being made.
