LAKEWOOD, CO – The driver who allegedly caused a bus crash that hospitalized 16 people on December 6 has been charged with vehicular homicide, CBS News reports.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Kipling Parkway and West 6th Avenue around 7:30 pm. The bus was attempting a left turn onto West 6th Avenue when an SUV traveling at least 40 mph over the speed limit crashed into it.
The bus was carrying a wrestling team from Central High School in Mesa County. One of the passengers, 18-year-old Julio Gonzalez, eventually died from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV, Andrew Logan Miller, now faces vehicular homicide charges.
