NEAR MEAD, CO – A pedestrian lost her life to a collision that happened on I-25 North near Mead on Saturday, Denver7 reports.
The events unfolded around 5:30 a.m. The pedestrian, who was initially driving, stopped on the interstate shoulder to help out another driver who was having car mechanical issues. Just as the pedestrian continued helping, she was then hit by a moving Honda vehicle.
The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, died from her injuries at the scene. The Honda driver stayed at the scene.
Colorado State Patrol will release the victim’s name once her family is notified of her passing.
Officials shut down the area for several hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process and investigation.
