DENVER, CO – Law enforcement arrested a 19-year-old and a 31-year-old adult, who stole vehicles, in connection with a crash that damaged a Denver home, 9News reports.
The source said the collision happened on April 3, last month. The Metro Auto Theft Task Force, a multi-agency task force that focuses on vehicle theft, first attempted to stop a 31-year-old adult driving a stolen vehicle in Golden.
Police shortly discovered a 19-year-old female, driving another stolen vehicle, was trailing behind the 31-year-old, so they followed both suspects into Denver.
Police used a grappler device, a tool used to stop a vehicle, on one of the stolen vehicles. One of the stolen vehicles, driven by the 19-year-old, then crashed into a Denver home.
The 19-year-old woman immediately exited her vehicle and tried to flee the scene on foot, but she and the 31-year-old were arrested. The 19-year-old suspect is also wanted by other law enforcement agencies for several drug-related charges, according to court documents.
The homeowner, identified as Dylan Scinta, was not home when the collision happened. While Scinta was spared from injuries, he was not spared from home damage, with repairs expected to exceed $10,000.
