AURORA, CO – A male suspect was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that took place on East Colfax Avenue near I-225 on Tuesday.
CBS News said the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. Preliminary details show that the suspect, driving a GMC SUV, had struck a pedestrian as he was walking across Colfax Avenue.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been reported, died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver fled the scene without rendering aid. Thanks to FLOCK cameras, the Aurora police were able to track down the suspect and arrested and booked him into custody at the Aurora Detention Center. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
The suspect, 32-year-old Daryl Murray, was charged with leaving the scene of a collision, failing to notify police of a crash, and driving with a suspended license.
