Officials said it was Berthoud Fire Lieutenant Ken Bradley who succumbed to his injuries, according to 9News.
Police said wrong-way driver, 25-year-old Kevem Barbosa Roque Dos Santos, was going south on northbound Interstate 25, when he crashed into Bradley.
Bradley was driving a truck at the time of the crash. What remains unclear is whether he was on or off-duty when the incident occurred.
An investigation is underway.
