DENVER, CO – One person was killed, and another was hospitalized following a wrong-way collision in Denver on Sunday, CBS News reports.

The incident unfolded around 7:30 a.m. when a driver going south on northbound I-25 struck a northbound vehicle head-on in the HOV lane.

The wrong-way driver succumbed to their injuries, while the other driver was hospitalized for serious injuries.

Authorities closed the HOV for the scene-clean-up process and said all lanes have reopened since.

The crash is under investigation.
