AURORA, CO – A 23-year-old woman died as a result of a head-on crash that occurred southwest of the Palm Grove Shopping Center on Saturday.

The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on Picadilly Road south of East 38th Avenue, CBS News reports. Preliminary details show a 23-year-old woman, driving a Nissan Senta, was going south on Picadilly when she crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Traverse.

EMS crews rushed the 23-year-old woman to a hospital, where she later died. The Chevrolet survived and sustained minor injuries and received a medical evaluation at the scene.

Officials closed the area for over four hours before reopening it.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased’s name.
