News: Woman, 23, arrested for DUI after fatal three-vehicle crash in Lone Tree

LONE TREE, CO – A 23-year-old woman was arrested for DUI after a fatal crash in Lone Tree on Sunday, 9News reports.

The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. on I-25 near Lincoln Avenue. Lone Tree Police revealed in an arrest affidavit that there were two collisions involving three vehicles.

The 23-year-old woman, identified as Citlaly Guzman-Aguilar, was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when she crashed into a Subaru driver standing outside his vehicle.

Guzman-Aguilar also rear-ended a Ford.

The two drivers died from their injuries.

According to the affidavit, Guzman-Aguilar said she believed she was traveling 70 mph and said she was coming from Colorado Springs, where she visited Garden of the Gods. When she arrived in Lone Tree, she noticed a vehicle that was sideways and said she “struck something.” Airbags were deployed.

Guzman-Aguilar initially claimed to police that she did not have any alcohol in her system, but later admitted to having two seltzers. Police said they also found several containers of alcohol in Guzman-Aguilar’s vehicle.

Officials arrested her for DUI. She is also being charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving.

Authorities said they closed the northbound lanes for several hours before reopening.
